E-commerce, driven by continual shifts in consumer behavior, is a rapidly evolving industry. As a member of the Niyoin Coders team, I contributed to a project that explores the future of shopping and aligns with the evolving customer mindsets in this dynamic sector.
India, with its expanding digital economy and growing internet user base, is set to become a global e-commerce powerhouse by 2030. The country is projected to lead online shopping with 500 million buyers, driving the e-commerce market to an impressive US$325 billion. By the same year, India’s digital economy is expected to reach US$800 billion. Currently, the Indian e-commerce market stands at US$70 billion, representing about 7% of the overall retail market. Notably, internet penetration has surged, with 52% of the population, or approximately 759 million people, accessing the internet in 2022.
The rise of e-commerce has significantly transformed the logistics sector, reshaping processes from storage and transportation to delivery. Success in today’s digital landscape hinges on not just product quality but also the efficiency of e-logistics, which covers everything from order placement to doorstep delivery. This growth brings various challenges, making efficient logistics a critical component of successful e-commerce ventures.
